Senate Judicary Committee Sets Hearing on Hate Crimes Legislation

The United States Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a hearing on Senate Bill 909,  “The Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009”.  The extreme nature of this bill even offers special protections to pedophiles causing many to label this bill “The Pedophile Protection Act”.  This legislations creates a new special class of citizens based on sexual orientation and gender identity.  The committee hearing will take place on Thursday, June 25th at 10am Eastern Time in Washington.  The witness list of those scheduled to testify is filled with those in favor of the hate crimes legislation.  Senators Herb Kohl and Russ Feingold both sit on this committee.  To express your views contact Senator Feingold  at (202) 224- 5323 and Senator Kohl at 1-800-247-5645.
