Sen. Feingold to Hold Listening Session in Milwaukee

Senator Russ Feingold will be holding a listening session in Milwaukee this Friday, September 18th.  This Listening Session will be held at 2:00pm at Vincent High School, 7501 North Granville Road in Milwaukee.  The meeting will last up to an hour.  Listening Sessions provide constituents an opportunity for citizens to address issues of legislative concern such as the proposal for government health care, hate crimes legislation, cap and trade, ENDA, and other issues. 

WI Assembly to Vote on Compulsory Education Bill

The Wisconsin State Assembly will be voting on a compulsory kindergarten Bill this Wednesday, September 16th during their Noon Floor Period. Presently compulsory attendance is not required until age 6. This Assembly Bill 119 requires a child to complete five-year-old kindergarten as a prerequisite to being admitted to first grade in a public school.
