Public Hearing Set for Legalized Marijuana (For Medical Purposes) in Wisconsin

Committees in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate are considering legislation that would bring about the legalization of marijuana for medical purposes in the State of Wisconsin.  A Public Hearing has been set for these bills, SB-368 and AB-554.  The Public Hearing will be held Tuesday, December 15th at 10:00am in Room 412 East in the State Capitol.  It’s important for Wisconsin residents to contact your legislators at 1-800-362-9472.  This legislation is backed by the ACLU.  And according to the November 16th posting on the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker was “open to the idea” of scheduling a floor vote on the bill.  The lead Assembly sponsor, Mark Pocan said “he was confident the Assembly Public Health Committee would approve the bill and forward it to the full Assembly.”
