Prayer Challenged at Marshfield City Council

According to the Marshfield News Herald the Freedom From Religion Foundation has filed a complaint with the city of Marshfield urging the City Council to discontinue the practice of prayer at their meetings, claiming “the prayers violate the constitutional principle of separation between church and state”.  According to the article, Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation” said, “’We don’t want them to be praying at all,’ adding that no prayer during meetings would ensure the council is in compliance with the Constitution.” You can read the full article at this link: http://www.marshfieldnewsherald.com/article/20110204/MNH0101/102040629/1732&located=rss
