Ashland City Council Considers Banning Prayer at Council Meetings

The Ashland City Council is favoring the passage of an ordinance to ban prayer at their Council Meetings and instead have “a moment of silence”.  When the Council gathered as a “Committee of the Whole” they voted 9-2 to ban the invocation and replace it with silence.  (Councilors Carl Doersch and Dick Pufall voted against the ban).

Originally scheduled to take this up as a City Council on January 31st, the vote has been delayed until their next Council Meeting on March 13th
